Somatic Therapy

When was the last time you felt safe in your body?

I mean genuinely safe. If you can't even imagine what that feels like, you aren't alone.

When clients step into my office for the first time, many of them don't feel safe, allied, or connected with their bodies. Instead, they feel at war with them. I work with people to find true, embodied body image healing after an eating disorder.

It's hard to thrive when you are trying to navigate a world that feels like it is on fire.

Your relationship with your body impacts how you experience the world.

If you are trying to heal your body image after an eating disorder, you may feel inadequate, ashamed, or anxious. Without the right skills, you may frequently experience a *dysregulated nervous system* (the girlies with chronic tummy issues and anxiety know what I'm talking about.)

At Wildflower Eating Disorder and Trauma Therapy, I'll work with you to heal your relationship with your body and regulate your nervous system.

If you haven't gotten the results you want from talk therapy, a Somatic approach could be a game changer.

I utilize Somatic Experiencing techniques to help my clients achieve:

Healing from childhood trauma

Decreased body image issues

Reduced anxiety levels

Eating disorder recovery

What is Somatic Trauma Healing?

Somatic Experiencing is a mind-body based approach. These techniques allow us to drop into the body in a way that feels manageable. This allows us to connect with your felt sense in a way that talk therapy doesn't. By tuning into and working with the body, we are able to heal childhood trauma, soothe the nervous system, and establish a sense of safety within.
