Somatic Therapy

When was the last time you felt safe in your body?

I mean genuinely safe. If you can't even imagine what that might feel like, you aren't alone.

Many of the clients that I work with don't feel safe, allied, or even connected with their bodies. Instead, they feel at war with them.

It's hard to thrive when you are trying to navigate a world that feels like it is on fire.

Your relationship with your body impacts how you experience the world.

If you need to move towards healing childhood trauma or struggle with body image issues, you likely experience feelings of inadequacy, shame, or anxiety. Without the right skills, you may even be experiencing a frequently *dysregulated nervous system* (the girlies with chronic tummy issues and anxiety know what I'm talking about.)

Working with a Somatic trauma therapist can help you re-regulate your nervous system and heal your relationship with your body.

If you haven't gotten the results you want from talk therapy, body-based therapy could be a game changer.

I utilize Somatic Experiencing techniques to help my clients achieve:

Healing from childhood trauma

Decreased body image issues

Reduced anxiety levels

Eating disorder recovery

What is Somatic Experiencing?

Somatic Experiencing is a mind-body based approach. These techniques allow us to drop into the body in a way that feels manageable. This allows us to connect with your felt sense in a way that talk therapy doesn't. By tuning into and working with the body, we are able to heal childhood trauma, soothe the nervous system, and establish a sense of safety within.
