Maternal Mental Health

Pregnancy + Postpartum

Fertility issues, pregnancy loss, perinatal depression and anxiety, body image issues, societal expectations, and grieving your pre-motherhood existence are not typically things that come to mind when we imagine our ideal entry into parenthood. Unfortunately, these are issues that many women find themselves facing.

Whether you are trying to navigate the pregnancy/postpartum period in the midst of eating disorder recovery or are generally struggling with the complexities that come with bringing a life into the world, you don't have to do it alone.

Maternal Mental Health

They say that it takes a village to raise a child. But, who in your village helps you to take care of yourself? If nobody comes to mind, therapy might be an option to consider.

Being a mom is truly a wonderful gift, but let's face it. Motherhood is freaking tough. As mamas, we pour so much of ourselves into our children. I'm sure that we have all heard of that cheesy oxygen mask analogy. But, how are you suppose to take care of yourself first when your tiny human(s) rely on you for literally everything? I mean, can you even remember the last time you got to pee by yourself or eat a meal without little fingers trying to snatch a bite?

While it might take some prioritizing, it is possible to put on your oxygen mask first and still be the parent you want to be. So, put down your cape, supermom because it's okay not to have it all together. No matter how much your mom guilt tells you otherwise, you deserve to take care of yourself too.
